Our Transform YOUR Brain Program uses the discoveries I have made over the last 25 years of clinical practice. I have worked in many different settings using many different modalities. However, my goal has always been the same, to help people from all walks of life, who are struggling with all manner of issues, to transform their lives and reach their potential.

I believe that my unique and effective approach has been able to evolve over the past 25 years, to what it is today due to a number of key factors:
- My passion for the healing arts. Due to my own developmental issues this passion started quite young, I was doing martial arts very early in life, studying yoga at fourteen years old and started studying psychology, counseling, reflexology and body work in my late teens

1.Brain Based Coaching
One of the most interesting things to come out of recent research into the brain, has been a better understanding how traditional forms of talk therapy work and what forms of talk therapy work most effectively. I believe that the techniques that, focus on establishing a good working relationship, work with an emphasis on process, exploring the client’s direct experience, and including the body gives the best results. We have significant training and experiences in these types of approaches, these include: Emotion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Committement Therapy, Contemporary Gestalt Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness based Therapies (see below), Schema Therapy, Neuropsychotherapy and more.
2.Brain Training Technologies and Techniques
There have been a number of brain training technologies developed over recent years that represent significant developments in ways to change your brain. Most of these technologies are computer (or Ipad / Iphone) based allowing them to be very user friendly. I have sourced the most evidence based technologies to help you reach your goals, these can be accessed online or at home on computer, IPad or Iphone.
The knowledge that has come from the “decade of the brain” has allowed us to more clearly see what types of brain training techniques can more effectively change your brain and broader nervous system. These techniques are a core part of how we work with you to reach your goals
3.Mindfulness Meditation and Mindfulness based Therapies
Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years as a way to quiet the mind and produce different states. Most cultures and religions have their version of meditation, which I also believe supports its role in human transformation. Further there has been an explosion in interest in meditation and it’s impact on the mind and body in recent years. Current research is also proving the powerful impact that meditation can have personal growth and in psychological and physical well-being.
Practicing any mediation style will have a positive effect on your life; however, I prefer the Mindfulness approaches. These approaches have a lot of research support and have been shown to transform the mind and body in many ways, these include:
- Foster more relaxation
- Increase focus
- Develop more flexible attention
- Less rigidity and reactivity
- Developing further self awareness
Essentially Mindfulness practices give you the necessary skills to start and complete the transformational journey.
I have been practicing Mindfulness Meditation for 10 years, personally and professionally in my life, I have a daily personal practice and daily support clients to implement these principles into their life.
4.Nutritional and Herbal Medicine
There is clear evidence that certain substances adversely affect the brain and it’s capacity to evolve, for example white flour, sugar, alcohol, illicit drugs and some pharmaceutical medications will cause problems in your brain. Conversely other substances have been shown to support the brain in the ageing process and help it develop new pathways and networks. Our nutritional and herbal medicine programs are designed to support you bodies natural healing pathways and reach optimal health.
5.Biofeedback and Neurofeedback
Biofeedback is a way of training specific body systems and functions; many of these would normally be out of awareness and or control. Targeting specific systems and helping to raise your awareness and control over them can be a very powerful self support, helping you to use your body and body better and bring them back into balance.
Neurofeedback (or Neurotherapy or EEG Biofeedback), consists of computerized brain training designed to target specific brain functions. How it differs from other computer based brain training devices, is that you are hocked up to the computer whilst you are training so the computer is recording and interpreting you brain waves in real time, while you are training. This makes the feedback given to you extremely quick, accurate and produces better results.
Neurofeedback is one of the most significant advances in treating the brain made in the last 25 years, however very poorly understood and utilized, especially in Australia. At Transform YOUR Brain we were one of the first clinics in Melbourne to use this technology and the only clinic in Melbourne currently using zengars unique form of neurofeedback, Neuroptimal.
6.Therapeutic Life-Style Change
Given current scientific understandings of the brain body connection it could not be clearer that in order to have a healthy brain you need a healthy body and life-style. The most telling example of this comes out of recent developments in the “Brain Gut Axis” and “Psychoimmunology”. These fields of study identify the intimate relationship between the brain, gut and immune system. Interesting enough naturopathic doctors have been telling us about the importance of these connections for over 100 years.
In all our programs we have clear assessment processes guidelines that will help us to target what specific life-style changes you need to make. We focus on teaching you how to live a healthy life-style, (which will also act to maintain your health after you complete your program) whilst using various therapies to target specific body functions.

8.Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Technology
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMFT), supports biological communication at a cellular level, ultimately helping the body adapt, self-regulate and heal naturally. This is done by using different magnetic fields delivered to the body in a safe and non-invasive way.
