When I started Active Mind and Body almost 20 years ago, we were one of the first practices in
Melbourne to take an integrated and holistic approach to mental health. Over all this time it has
remained critical for me to see you as an individual, find what works and work with you as a whole
person not just a bunch of symptoms.
As I specialise in treating the whole person and focusing on what works I have been driven to train
with the best therapist from all around the world, and this search never stops I am always adding to
my approach so I can best meet your needs.
Somatic
Experiencing
The SE approach releases traumatic shock, which is key to transforming PTSD and the wounds of emotional and early developmental attachment trauma.
Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback is the latest technology in computer based brain training. It is a way of giving feedback to the brain that allows it to change, moving it into a more balanced and better functioning state.
Meditation
Meditation has been used for thousands of years as a daily practice to balance the mind and body. Mindfulness Meditation is a simple and effective form of meditation that involves sitting and following ones breathe.

I have always had a passion for the healing arts and working with clients, in that way I was lucky I
never had any doubt about what I wanted to do with my life. As far back as my mid-teens I
remember attending yoga classes and studying body work, reflexology and was fascinated about
healing and the potential of the mind and body!
Over 30 years later I still feel the same way, and even though like many therapist my passion was
fuelled by my own struggles early in life with learning disorders, hearing problems, severe anxiety
and a chronic stutter, the most satisfying thing for me now is seeing people grow, thrive and getting
a sense of the potential of who they really are.

That is why I always start with a thorough holistic assessment. When I sit with you, I will use my 30 years experience to deeply understand your individual concerns and needs and develop a solution that is unique to you.
